Here are the judging assignments for next Saturday's (December 10th) Shortgrass Auditions. Please let me know if your name is not on the list, or if you see someone listed who will not be there. We must have every director there, to make these auditions run smoothly.

Just a friendly reminder that the deadline for Shortgrass Honor Band entries is this Friday November 18th.

Also, if a student is signed up to take the ACT at the Clinton test site, they should reach the auditions with plenty of time. If they are signed up at a different test site, they can change their test site to the Clinton site for a $25 fee.

Registration is open for Shortgrass Honor Band entries. Please note the following:

1. Audition entries need to be submitted by Friday November 18th.

2. Two years ago we made the following amendment to the constitution:

"ACT takers must take the test at the closest possible site in order to check in at the audition site no later than 1:30"

2. Please encourage your students to PRACTICE their music before this weekend's clinic. Remind them that if they practice, they're sure to have a more fun and fulfilling honor band experience!

3. We will have our directors meeting on Friday at 2:00 PM, in the conference room (downstairs from the auditiorium/gymnasium lobby at Elk City HS).

1. We will once again have the opportunity to take our students to the indoor water park in Clinton on Friday evening after rehearsals. Each Shortgrass student and director will be able to get into the water park at a discounted rate of $5 per person. If you are taking your students to the water park on that Friday night please bring $5 cash per person, and make sure each swimmer has appropriate swimwear and towel.

Just a reminder that unlike SWOBDA, percussionists DO play scales at Shortgrass Auditions.

2. We have updated the 7th grade scale sheet to be in line with this years SWOBDA scales. It has 3 less scales now. 7th graders will NOT be expected to play G, Db, or Gb major scales at auditions.
