Shortgrass Auditions and ACT Test Takers

Just a friendly reminder and update about a few important items.

1. Audition entries need to be submitted by this Friday November 20th.

2. Last year we made the following amendment to the constitution:

"ACT takers must take the test at the closest possible site in order to check in at the audition site no later than 1:30"

If a student is signed up to take the ACT at the Clinton test site, they should reach the auditions with plenty of time. If they are signed up at a different test site, they can change their test site to the Clinton site for a $25 fee.

Staff Development Form

It has come to my attention that I passed out last years "Staff Development Forms" at yesterdays Shortgrass meeting.

I have uploaded a PDF of this years "Staff Development Form" onto the "Constitution" page of the website for anyone to print out, and I will also have copies to pass out today at Elk City (Saturday 1/10) for anyone who needs one.

Shortgrass Next Weekend! PLEASE READ!!!

Directors,

please encourage your students to PRACTICE their music before next weeks clinic! Remind them that if they practice, they're sure to have a more fulfilling honor band experience.

Also, if any student cannot make it to next weeks clinic for any reason, please notify me ASAP so we can contact an alternate.

We will have our directors meeting next Friday at 2:00 PM.

Shortgrass Auditions

Thank you everyone for your help in auditions this last Saturday. I think they ran about as smooth as possible considering how many students auditioned.

A few items...

1. A Samsung T-Mobile flip phone was turned in at the office, if it belongs to one of your students please let me know.

2. The folder for JH trumpet 4 was picked up by the wrong school. If you have it please let me know.

3. With the clinic right around the corner, please let me know of cancellations ASAP.

Auditions this Saturday!

This email is a reminder to bring your payment this Saturday for your schools entry fees.

There will be a directors meeting in the library at 9:00 AM, and auditions will begin at 9:30.

Please review the judging assignments and make sure that all directors from your school that are scheduled to judge, will be there this Saturday.

Shortgrass Auditions 2014-15

Directors,

The Shortgrass auditions are next Saturday December 13th in Cordell. There will be a directors meeting at 9:00 a.m. in the High School Library and the auditions will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Make sure all the directors from your school are at the audtions. It will take all of us to cover the judging assignments. All students will play one major scale, the chromatic scale at the bottom of their Shortgrass Scales sheet, both etudes from Set "A," and every student will sight read.

Scales DO NOT have to be memorized.
